Day 2
Day two dawned rather less optimistically than day 1, in fact in was long before dawn that the weary victims once more dragged themselves into a bus, to be delivered like lambs into ORTIA.
On the bus we found out that there would be no flights for us, on arrival at Heathrow, and we would be forced to spend yet another unplanned night somewhere…and missing the Smithsonian…
After a cup of coffee, followed by another, it was time to bored. Yes, bored, as yet again the boards flashed DELAYED at us, with a little middle-finger up-yours in top left hand corner flashing brightly.
In a very groundhoggish sort of way things started to fall into place…like day 1. Furtive staff that refuse to make eye contact, frantic telephone conversations, and an inordinate amount of clicking and shrugging…. To be continued…
