I would have thought they would be running new crew cources for summer 09 BUT I wouldnt hold my breath, however if new cources are held you will only get a temp contract (6 months) after that I doubt you will get a perm contract with them. Lots of crew from LGW, LTN, BHX have all just been layed off and many rumours are flying around the company about the airline ie making job cuts, route cuts etc
My advise to you is apply to gatwick or manchester if you really want monarch, you get more variety of routes and maybe some longhaul but dont expect to get a perm contract because if im honest I dont think the company will be keeping any new crew on until the financial situation is over.
Unlike other bigger airlines like Thomas Cook and Thomson, Monarch dont have the back up of a tour operator ie Thomas Cook Holidays, Thomson Holidays (apart from cosmos) so where the other airlines have a BIG brand with many areas not just an airline Monarch are not as big in that respect.
