It's a pretty strange remark to make - that landings are semi-crashes!?! This cannot be a serious post.

The 2271m runway has no obstacles at either end, will soon be cat III and has just been resurfaced. Pilots have told me they love the runway and approach in BOH - if anything SOU runway 30 miles up the road is unsafe for aircraft larger than ERJ and 146 especially when wet.

If landing from the east at BOH the displaced threshold means the landing distance available is shorter, but still OK for up to B767-300.

B747SP and aircraft such as DC-10/MD-11/B777 and A330/40 have flown in and have had no problems. A fully laden B747-200 with 440 economy passengers took off from the airports runway several times.
