Sustainable competition, with the passenger benefits which that brings, would be great, but history shows that two operators simply won't work for very long.
No doubt, sooner or later, someone will give it a go and we'll have a brief price war, before on or other throws the towel in, and we go back to one operator.
That has been the pattern for the last 20 years or so, and it's difficult to see it changing - there simply aren't enough pax to go around.
