At my academy (EPN, Sweden) we use the time preceding starts to roll.

What works for me is to write the EARLIEST time nr. 2 can depart on the strip of nr. 2 in field 10.

Example:
NR. 1 departs time 37:35.
I write on strip of NR. 2: 39:35.
