LTNMan et all........One factor that is often forgotten when considering the amount of free tarmac at LTN is that there are several major airliner maintenance facilities at LTN trying to jostle for ramp space (particularly at night)
At this time of year, TOM's H61 is full (3 or sometime 4 aircraft) All movements in and out of the hangar have to be carefully planned to prevents situations at night where our orange friends park on stands 15L/15/14 and block hangar access!
To this end I have frequent conversations with Apron Control and its clear they like to keep the South Stands free for maintenance overflow parking etc
