Another possible spanner in the recruitment works is the future of the ex-CFE pilots. With the RJ's heading off to the regions there is a row brewing with regard to who is going to fly them. The company would very much like BACE pilots to fly them, BALPA says 'no way, more than 100 seats it will have to be mainline'.
If the company gets there way all the ex-CFE pilots will need re-fleeting, in addition the ATR's are set to leave Gatwick in OCT 03 in total around 200 pilots will be looking for a new fleet.
