Just to put your mind at rest - I bought my NB100 last week and put in the 2gb of memory in place of the 1gb originally fitted (I had already bought the 2gb memory from Crucial for my Asus 900) it is so easy, just make sure that the memory is fully pushed in. Having upgraded I've had no problems with my iPlayer.
