Exactly true Mike, many off schedule aircraft due earlier fog, they pushed their luck to try and get out before the curfew, and unfortunatley many did not make it, some even had passengers on-board and were ready when they were refused permission to depart, rather frustrating for the PAX who had already been transfered from an earlier cancelled flight!
