if you aren't biased, modulair would be the cheapest way, this would mean that you might have to change from time to time as some modules might be cheaper in different FTO's. PPL, timebuild, IFR and night VFR can all be done before ATPL theory i.e. outside a FTO ( with the proper theory done of course ).
