Well folks, they are actively taking bookings and allowing ticket issue. We have made a few after going through all sorts of hoops to get their plate. This is not to mention a second string BSP program that costs us to participate in.
As for the fares on offer being non viable on the Pacific, please be aware these are the "lead in" fares". The regular fares are within 5% of the incumbents and a new player needs to attract a following and a baseload for a new service.
I did note today that UA has price matched within dollars, but with their drop to 3% commission I know who I will be offering first, with brand new equipment and crews that aren't due for a walking frame in the cabin. We do get a flown override, but that aint the point.
The PA route is one of the most expensive in the world, and has been a cash cow for QF and UA. I still can't figure why NZ didn't reopen the NZ14/15 service SYDLAX which was well supported. Maybe a nice tradeoff with QF? Just doesn't make sense.
