Mrs IB's family live in the South West, and as a family we fly a few times a year from Newcastle - Bristol.
When Eastern announced the flights from DTVA, they seamed ideal. That was until I found out that the cheapest return fare was £199 per person.
I got in contact with Eastern to find out why their fares were so high, when compared to return fares from as little as £25 with Easyjet from Newcastle. After "thanking" me for my interest in the route, they explained that they were aiming the service purely at the business market, and not the leisure pax.
With fares like that, the interest levels in the route were never going to be enough to keep the route going
