The pay will awards rate but to tell exactly how much per hr. I have to find out from the crew. But of course it will be some laoding involved. I think the staff benefit will be different but to compare with the new contract with Qantas Airways It won't be much different when you weight with the hour you have to work.
I know you are in MEL, but if you want to go for international airline. It won't hurt to start growth in the industry. Be mindful that if you want to work with EY or EK you will have to be away from home and family, friends etc... so might be a good idea to get use to it, and you will be more comfortable when you have a big interview day.
By the way, I'm catching up with my friend from AUH tonight and will take her around coz she has 48hrs layover so I might be away from my laptop for sometime but I will try to reply when I can, I got wireless internet.
