As a side note, I notice qf 73's taxi around ( i think - but at least depart) with the wing lights on.
Well noted. Wing lights now go on when entering an active runway. It came in about a month ago. Apparently it's 'worlds best practise' and your issues about night vision were raised by many QF line crew but what would we know!
