Looks like Aer Lingus has decided that the grass is greener on the other side of the border (despite the soft rain in Ireland!) and is to announce a second UK base (after Belfast). Well their old friend O'Leary has made a mint in the promised land, so no doubt they want to follow suit.
I can't help feeling that they are deluded if they think they will be able to compete with the likes of Easy Jet, Monarch and the rest at a time of economic distress. Unless that is, their major shareholder is prepared to bail them out "in the national interest"!!!
