It does indeed look like the new link road to the airport will be opening before Christmas but with much of the route coned off for single lane working I doubt there will be any improvement in journey times to and from the M1 until at least March.
It also looks like traffic from the airport will have to temporarily give way to traffic on the A505. I can see this causing more traffic jams than it cures.
