O/K, let's look at some pro's and con's of the big bus! Talking to colleaques that fly it, it is incredibly quiet and this makes sleeping difficult because you can hear people talking and coughing and doing whatever 480 people generally do at 40,000 feet. Most aircraft drown out normal cabin noise by the droning of the engines or the slipstream sounds. Is this a pro or a con? It has amazing runway performance and appears to run rings around a 747 by using less runway to rotate. This is assumed both aircraft MTOW doing YMEL-KLAX. Obviously a pro? Anybody here who has flown both types like to give a qualified observation?
