The falling pound is the same one that you will be spending in JER surely. To service the once weekly Dash 8, itwill require some of the following ATC,cleaners, check-in, management,caterers and security to name a few not forgetting loaders and a push back man and tug. This single operation will cost KIA about £3000 - £4000 a turnaround. I can assure with my 39 years of very limited aviation employ, that FlyBe will not pay anymore than £2000 tops to operate from KIA.

This leaves a direct loss, this can only be profitable when those same staff turnaround 3-5 aircraft in an hour, the airport was only achieving this (a few times daily) when EU Jet operated. In other words unless we can get back to something like that operation then there is little chance of KIA going anywhere.

i think, we as far away as ever from that goal. Presently there is plenty of cargo capacity at LGW and STN and both are better logistically placed, both airports also have plenty of slots too for pax aircraft
