Once again Torpy shows himself to be the government's lackey, prepared to compromise the defence of his nation in the interests of short term financial savings which will rebound disastrously on us in the future, probably sooner than later. The same short sighted thinking has resulted in the complete compromise of UK military airworthiness over the past twenty years. That he does this at the supposed cost to a sister service rather than his speaks volumes for his limited grasp of the realities and does the Royal Air Force that he supposedly leads no favours.
