I have been looking at the railway station usage stats and Tees-Side Airport Station is placed at 2510 out of 2520 stations with only 85 passengers a year being recorded as using the station. This is no doubt due to the fact that I can only see one train a day stopping at the station.
So why does the airport authority bus passengers to Darlington, a journey of 27 minutes when there is a railway station on site that is not used due to a lack of passengers when the journey would take 8 minutes?
Surely an airport station would be at the top of the pile on a wish list for most airports?
