I was on the old contract at BA, so, no you would not like the wages and 8 leg days here..lol It is really not glamourizing the old days at all. It is not only hard work today, but there is also a severe reduction in pay, making it impossible for this to be a career. In the old days, people like Sir Colin Marshall were pro-employee and seemed to maintain more of a balance between employee benefit, and company profit. Today it seems airline management has embarked on a process of squeezing as much out of employees as they can, with absolutely no reduction in their own compensation or bonuses, and I have not even mentioned the middle management that create depts. and projects to justify their over-inflated salaries. They take absolutely no responsibility for decisions made, and pass the onus right on down to the front line. The leadership at airlines has changed; in days of old, you had leaders that were passionate about the industry, whereas today you have financial opportunists that could care less about the company, and it shows in how they treat the staff, and how they practically bankrupt the company and walk away with millions. Airline CEO's do not lead anymore; they steal and deceive.
