I don't see ORK getting JFK or BOS service in the near future. The frequency obsessed US carriers don't usually launch service at less than 5 or 6 weekly and Im not sure ORK could sustain that in the current climate. Even airports like LHR and MAN are loosing service over the atlantic and surely the worst thing that could happen would be for a TA service at ORK to fail. We might never see a permanent service then! Look at NCL, for example AA pulled out just prior to starting a JFK service and no sign has been seen of a TA service since, despite daily service to Dubai and long haul charter flights both summer and winter.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see CO, DL, or whoever at Gate 5, but I just don't think it will happen until the economy improves on both sides of the Atlantic.
