I'd say it's the furthest thing from their minds. The problem with transatlantic from Cork relates to the fact that the US airlines have doubts about whether the Cork brand name is sufficiently known in the US. Shannon has a 60 year start on us in that regard.
The CAA has figures which show that a ORK EWR or ORK JFK service is very viable but convincing Continental or Delta to take the plunge is not easy particularly in these recessionary time
