Even the Continental 757 to Newark ? Runway 25 at Aldergrove is 9,120ft. The new runway at BHD will be 7,930 ft. Of course airlines can make adjustments with regard to reducing fuel load relative to the amount required for the journey and passenger loads in order to bring it within the required weight for a certain runway length. I think Continental have already had to do something like that to depart BFS rwy25 (?) But regards other routes there is still the issue of operating hours at the airport (0600-2130 for scheduled flights) and noise abatement procedures, local residents etc to get in the way of serious expansion of business at BHD.
