Can I instruct in the UK on an Australian Instructor Rating?

Does anyone know if an Australian Instructor Rating is any use in the UK?

It seems as if everything needs to be converted to be JAR compliant....

Any advice from anyone who has tried something similar would be greatly appreciated.
