Caledonian Airways (a totally separate charter outfit) bought the livery and name.
Not right. When BA bought BCAL in 1988 they amalgamated both airlines charter divisions - namely British Airtours and British Caledonian Charter - into a single outfit and adopted the name Caledonian and the basic BCAL livery.
BA later sold Caledonian, complete with identity, in December 1994.
