You are correct that Chevron Thailand is only one small part of the whole global operation and your point is taken.
However, my point was that the helicopter operation/contract in GOT is under the Chevron Thailand Operation and they have long term contracts and fixed prices for the sale of the gas to the Gov't of Thailand, so not quite so attached to the current roller coaster ride of crude price.
Also, although we wish it were different, compared to the rest of the operation, e.g. supply boats, rigs, manpower, etc. the helicopter operation is a very very small portion of the budget.
they won't spend the capital if they are bleeding elsewhere.
Got quite a chuckle out of that statement, they are hardly bleeding at $50/barrel, they are still making a VERY good profit. At $150 the profits were criminal!!
