Just to add fuel to the flame, Chevron has agreed to pay for mobilization of 76C++. The birds are in process of being readied for Thailand, in red, white, and blue, but with no company logo. No word here in UTapao as to contract being awarded, but as the deadline looms closer, it will be difficult for Si Chang (Bristow) to get pilots, AME and support staff in place by then. Short term contract could be tendered for a short period of time with TAS/CHC until successful company is ready to take over. With current world financial position, IMHO, Chevron is looking to have companies sharpen pencil and duke it out a bit. TAS/CHC has two bases with Si Chang operating out of one. Chevron proposes to build central base that would service entire Gulf. With oil prices being down, will they build this new base, or leave things as they are. Si Chang has no base in the north, so can they be in a postion to service entire field? Again IMHO, Chevron is posturing to have TAS/CHC bring a humble offer to the table. I hope not, oil prices won't continue to drop in the forceable future. Once the winter is over in the northern hemisphere, watch prices start to climb again.
