Two killed in light plane crash
Northern Territory police say two people have died in a light plane crash at Jindare Station near Pine Creek.
Police say that about 1:30pm (ACDT) they received reports that a light plane had crashed near the station runway, about 40 kilometres south-west of Pine Creek.
Pine Creek Police have attended the scene and say no one else was on board the aircraft.
The Katherine investigation unit is travelling to the scene and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) spokesman says the plane is a two seater kit-built aircraft known as a VANS RV7.
Another sad day in the territory. Condolences to the families and friends of those involved.
