I rode a Capital Airlines Connie from Chicago to Washington in turbulent weather. Seated at the very aft end of the cabin, I swear I could see the fuselage twisting. Of course there was a lot rattling of the cupboard doors.
I was a white knuckle pax back then, even in smooth weather.
