For those people in the US wishing to come to australia to fly and eventually work for Qantas, the sad news is you probably won't. The reason is they require a pass in all 7 ATPL subjects. To convert FAA ATP to CASA ATPL
you need to do in order CPL AIR LAW EXAM, IREX, ATPL AIR LAW, do flight training to pass a ME_CIR, then PASS the ME-CIR, medical, paperwork etc etc. HOWEVER, one you get ISSUED with your CASA ATPL you CAN sit for the other ATPL subject, BUT if you fail one you will have your ATPL revoked and only have a cpl. This has been verifed by casa. Qantas or any other airline that req's a pass in all 7 atpl subjects will not look at you. To the Best of my knowledge it is just qantas that req's this. Unless your a bloody genious i would not attempt it.
