The old Eastern Air Lines Duckhawk paintjob was one of the worst to maintain. It had Reds, Blues and whites and gold metalic tape to boot. Even the piston engine nacelles were painted. The also like to include advertising signage right on the fuselage like"
"FLY EASTERN AIR LINES NEW 13,000 HORSEPOWER SUPER C CONSTELLATIONS". What a mouthful and painted right next to to the pax entrance door. The name on the fuselage was always "Fly Eastern" or "Fly Eastern Air Lines". Allegedly Capt Rickenbacker would take an advertising tax write-off for the paint jobs on the aircraft.
