I think this is the most pertinant issue of our time. Interestingly, the whole "EXPECTATION MANAGEMENT" that i hear sometimes on the crew bus is we are in dire straights. I cannot believe that at all. if the fuel hedging has been the most catastophic financial decision that it is portrayed to be, then surely the financial off icer involoved that has placed all the staff of Cathay Pacific in this perdicament should be hung out to dry. When we see that then perhaps we need to reconsider things. This just another "smoke and mirrors" situation, perhaps it is is the means to drive the share price down for yet another buy back while the shares are so low.. ( no then it would be illegal surely - (making false statements about fuel hedging lifespan to give the HK Stock Exchange a profit warning ) ). Something else to think about...
