GBALU53, probably because of articles like this:

Jersey's tourism board is holding a number of meetings with airlines in a bid to find a carrier to replace the capacity loss of 100,000 seats.
The British island, off the coast of Normandy, has set aside £1 million as a sweetener to entice airlines, after Thomsonfly ended its Coventry to Jersey route; bmi pulled two flights from the East Midlands and Cardiff; and easyjet announced the termination of its schedule from Luton.

Speaking to Travel Weekly, David de Carteret, Jersey's director of tourism and marketing, revealed that he is holding a series of meetings with airlines at World Travel Market, in an effort to reinstate old routes or open new ones.
He said: "We don’t talk to airlines just in terms of just having a conversation with them; we talk to airlines with offers on the table like financial assistance on landing charges and marketing support."
Jersey Airport currently facilitates 1.5 million passengers annually as well as 80,000 aircraft movements.
