If the same problems are besetting all final-salary schemes, I bet our solution is better than most, if not all.
Just because others are getting shafted, should we also get the same? We are in an industry that, despite all the doom and gloom, has a realitvely inelastic demand for our services (thus income)
With the global shortage of ATC staff, we are
selling ourselves short by expecting no more than RPI+0.5% over 15 years. And before somebody says this only applies to ATCOs, we need all the support people around us too. In any market, people who are in demand will get pay commensurate with that.
Management will most likely put the plan through without our ratification, but at least we can
vote no and show our disdain
