Vendetta, if you're a nervous flyer, stop reading about airline crashes.
Leave that up to the professionals to learn from their mistakes. You've quoted 1979! AA and most airlines today do not save costs by cutting corners on safety. They cut routes, cut service, charge extra, cut bonuses, cut terms and conditions and lay off staff... but that's another thread altogether.
