If I do have a viral infection I just can’t believe that it’s taking so long to go
The lay person's understanding of "
viral infection" is that that is what they are told when they go to the GP with something really trivial, such as colds or gastric bugs, which they already know will settle down in hours, or days at the most.
It's nowhere near as well appreciated that there are many other conditions, in which though they are still "
viral infections" the time-scale to be expected runs into weeks or even months.
