Thanks for the link, yes I was aware of it.

The same of hopes were around when I did my PPL 2.5 yrs ago, and were dashed. By all accounts plans come and go regularly.

The schools are pretty good in managing the situation with the taxiway. I also did my training with Cubair, most of my circuits at Redhill, and then the runways closed before I went solo. - ended up having to do this at Headcorn.

Re use of the taxiway, the airfield rules are that you have to have 100hrs total time before being permitted to use it.

When I did my training as I mentioned in my earlier post, I did the approach work, whilst the instructor did the touchdown, with me following through on the controls. I must say that it does tighten up your approach work and ensures that you pay attention to the numbers. Also, once you move back to a normal runway it seems huge.

Hope you enjoy the training with Cubair, they're a good bunch.
