The bmi group has been bought by the Lufthansa Group which includes airlines like Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Swiss, Jade etc. bmi will just be another company under the Lufthansa banner trading as bmi for the time being anyway, exactly in the same way as Swiss International Airlines. This hasn't got anything to do with Lufthansa as an airline but Lufthansa as a group of companies. You're not going to see a fleet of large blue tailed German registered aircraft based at Heathrow for the foreseeable future. I think it could be a great thing for bmi, with some much needed investment especially in marketing and the brand. Providing jobs are safe.
