I have only ever felt compelled to write one letter of commendation in the many flights I have taken. It was a good few years ago,on a KLM flight from AMS to JFK.
On my return I wrote a letter to KLM headquarters, about the cabin crew member,I thought had gone above and beyond the call of duty.I received a nice letter back, stating my comments would be passed on to this person.
Do good comments get passed onto cabin crew,or is this just a stock response letter?.
I have a close friend that is a cabin crew manager,I must admit that I am green with envy, when she tells me the places she's been to.She also tells me some of the not so glamorous aspects of the job too!.
Whenever I fly I always try to engage in conversation with the crew, and have a laugh with them.
I must admit that my 'local' airline,Jet2 have some of the most approachable and friendly crews that I have experienced.
