One of the previous posts inferred LHR gave priority to BA departures. Having operated frequently out of LHR I found the opposite. BA long haul planes used to have a short taxi from T4 to R/W 27L, had a lengthy safety video and were often slow with the radio loadsheet. Consequently they were sometimes not ready when reaching the hold point. Tower often said to BA planes "report ready". Only then were they put in the sequence. I'm sure any LHR tower controllers who read this forum will confirm it and that they do not give any other airlines the "report ready" instruction. So in my view LHR ATC not biased towards BA, if anything the opposite.
