Yes I really enjoy flying it although the performance is considerably reduced due to the loop we have installed around it for survey ops. The two Casa's we operate are the only ones certified to fly in Canada which is why it is quite unusual to see when we pull into different airports up here.
Should be no problem for you to transition to a twin otter from the Casa if you go to the Maldives. You may have to get a float endorsement if you don't already but that is a short process.
