One of my instructors (crusty old pilot type) had 5 engine failures.
Another one only had one... in nearly 60 years of professional flying!
I've only had one... when turning onto base over a town (so no option of a pfl). But it was quickly resolved when I realized that the student had got the carb heat and the mixture levers muddled up!
