5 posts and 4 mention the word "airline". Guys/Girls, broaden your mind... Any job, any company (as long as it safe) should be your taget, specially these days.
And yes Africa might seem like a myth but more likely because people are scare to try their luck there. Not necessarily what you might have dreamt of but for pilots with the will to succeed, it has always been the place. Not that you will land a job from here without pitching up your face but with the right personality, attitude, guts, it should only be a matter of time.
Now with the actual job market, I suggest time is what you have.

I do not want to sound harsh but in my days, I made the mistake to listen to some "well established" airline guy who was adamant that going to Africa was a crazy idea. Now I realise he had never really been in the job market (joined this airline early enough at the right time) and had no idea about job hunting. Only hearsay on his behalf.... So this is how I wasted 2 years, sitting confortably at home, hoping someone will reply to my many, many CVs (worldwide).

Don't waste time, try everything !!!
