How does the US know you overstayed your visa? If you just overstayed and then left they might not even know. The record keeping was pretty poor for a long time.
I guess they know... because when I left last December I had to return the piece of paper ( that you fill out in the airplane at the entry to the country ) to the guy in Lufthansa check-in counter. I guess then they need to return that part to INS. I don't know... but not even one person checked my visa in my passport , while leaving USA.... so maybe they won't know.... but I rather not risk it. Because if they find out... I'd be baned from that country for a lifetime .
Ohhh....And I was not departed , I left by my self ( I had enough of USA and it was time for a change
