BOAC - Our understanding of the logic is the same ..just the way we prefer to use that design option differs.
There are pros and cons to both preferences. Having an engineering background I like to know as soon as the oil temp starts to move that 40 or 50 degrees towards the normal operating limit/or as soon as the pressure starts to drop.
I guess if you scan it often enough you get the best of both worlds. Its just all that execise having to lean over and press the button so many times
