Drove to the airport on Thursday to catch a flight to VIE. I was amazed to see so many workman actually working on the new dual carriage way into the airport, probably the most I have seen since work started many months ago. Various sections do now seem to be progressing well, so does anyone know what the expected time frame is now for completion of the project. I know it is several months behind schedule at the moment.
The terminal seemed to be be incredibly busy, for what now is the very late summer schedules, so plenty of pax still travelling.
On a final note, heard from a reliable source that route expansion at LTN is still very active, surprisingly, with several new routes likely to be confirmed to commence between late March and early May 09. Apparently one in particular, if finally confirmed, would to a destination, one would not normally associate with LTN. The carrier also. Despite persistant hassle of my source, more than that, he would not say.
