There didn't seem to be as many lighties as I'd expect. Well done to Kellie in the tower for looking after them in her friendly and professional manner, all while dealing with the usual non-standard radio calls that come with such a fly-in.
The clearance handling was a little unusual though. Tower seemed to be handling most of the clearance delivery including transponder code allocation at the same time as a take-off clearance. There were a few occassions when transponder code changes were issued just after take-off. Surely the 'normal' system of clearance delivery -> ground -> tower -> approach would have worked better?
