Yeah - agreed.

It's a bit of a myth that you can just go to Asia or Africa and jump into an airline fresh out of your FTO. I'm not even talking about jets here, this applies to air taxi work and 'bush flying'.

It may be the case that airlines are recruiting in this part of the word, but if you look at the requirements you will find that they require 1000+ hours, type rating or line experience.

Those who have got the jobs have got a flight out there and litereally travelled the country walking into airfields asking for work untill they get lucky. A bit drastic to say the least. And not a possibility for those with a mortgage to pay.

I'm not saying it can't be done. It can. But it is not a guaranteed 'get out of jail free' card which some seem to think.

Somthing to remember perhaps...
