The latter-day Israelites don't actually pay for the US mil. equipment they get. The "payment" consists of a loan from the US Treasury, repayment of which is deferred indefinitely, meaning never paid back.
The Izzies also want F-22's. Trouble is, whether it's aircraft or smart weapons or whatever, they'll try to reverse engineer whatever they get, slap on an Israeli brand name, and then sell it to the Chinese or somebody like that.
Why is this a problem for UK or for Australia? If these two countries get F-35's with all the add-ons and all the software, Israel's lobbyists and Israel's representatives in the US House and Senate will demand that Israel must have same. This is one reason why selling UK or Australia F-35's loaded with all the options, as a car saleman would say, is problematic.
